RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PRE-HARVEST IN LEMON CROPS

At Tensac, we provide you with some tips for controlling Thrips, Mites, and Scale Insects during March-April.

The proximity of the lemon harvest presents difficulties in pest control, as some pests can become a headache in the upcoming spring.

It is essential for the producer to respect the limits of pesticide residues in fruit, especially in fruit intended for the juice and oil industry. Therefore, it is necessary to consider products that are quickly biodegradable, have low residue, and high efficacy.

During the first harvest in April-May in Argentina, the fruits are green in color and are known as «raw» lemons. They undergo a ripening process in chambers with ethylene to achieve a yellow-green color on their skin, a process called «degreening». At this stage, it is essential to limit the use of oils as insecticides, as they hinder the color change, leading to increased costs, delays in shipments, and greater loss of fruit turgidity

We propose an alternative to solve these issues:

Estén 80 is a highly effective solution. It is an insecticide-acaricide based on sucrose esters. It is free of residues, non-phytotoxic, 100% biodegradable, and does not delay the fruit ripening process. It is easy to formulate, compatible with other products used in lemon cultivation, and a highly efficient tool that guarantees high-quality crops.

We look forward to hearing from you.
